Post Graduate Certificate in Applied Theatre with Young People
Applications are now open for the 13/14 PG Cert in Applied Theatre: Facilitation, run by Almeida Projects and RCSSD.
The PGCATYP is jointly taught by Almeida Projects staff and the Central School of Speech & Drama (CSSD). It is relevant to all theatre artists – writer, director, actor, technician – who are passionate about working with young people, and interested in gaining practical facilitation and arts education-focused project planning skills. The course is taught vocationally through PAID practical placements working with young people. Students are encouraged to develop their academic research skills and to apply this to their everyday practice.
Details in brief:
• The course is one year part-time from September to August (making it possible to fit other work in around the course).
• The course fee is: £1,713 (for Home/EU students – more for ELQ and NON EU). However, this is offset by the paid placements offered at the Almeida Theatre (and there are also a limited number of bursaries available).
• The PGATYP takes place at both the Almeida Theatre and Central School of Speech and Drama. Students will participate in two lots of weekend lectures at RCSSD, a week of intensive training at the Almeida, as well as monthly seminars and three placements.
