Arts Council event: early booking and bursaries

The Arts Council are now booking for State of the Arts 2012: Artists shaping the world on Tuesday 14th February, with a reduced rate if you book before 25th December.

50 bursaries are being offered for artists to cover travel, accomodation and ticket prices to ensure artist's voices are fully represented. Apply here before 22nd December.

The programme of the event is based around the artist's role in a changing society. Contributors at this year's event include: journalist and television presenter Kirsty Wark; choreographer Arelene Phillips; Alex Poots, Festival Director, Manchester International Festival; and Michael Morris, Co-Director, Artangel. They will come together to discuss themes ranging from 'Artists boosting the creative economy' to 'Artists and the imagination'.
